The New blog for Cavo D'oro Bar is now set up !! At last !!
So im Richy i've been running the Cavo D'oro bar for most of this summer 2010 and it's very difficult to summarise the whole season in one paragraph but il give it a go.
The Cavo D'oro is a Hotel, Bar, Supermarket and Restaurant, but not all run by the same people!!!
The restaurant is rented to a lovely family who have been there for many years as is the supermarket to another amazing family and im sure if you've been before you've had the pleasure of meeting them all throughout your stay.
I run the bar for Mr Cristos the owner of the whole complex and it's been my best season in zante in 5 years...mainly because of all the people i work with here at the complex.
The resort this year is quieter than previous years but hopefully tour operators bookings will increase to this resort for summer 2011 but we will see. The bar has had its busy times mainly football games, quiz nights and X Factor !! but generally has been quite quiet for this summer but all the people who have come to the bar i'd like to say i think they enjoyed the bar and what it has to offer. The reason for this is mainly because in previous years the hotel was all british rooms and this summer there were 30 out of 110 rooms occupied by britts, but summer 2011 there will now be almost 60 so hopefully will see a big difference as we are the ones who like to drink more than anyone !! And im proud of it too..we love drinking, good music playing, sport on the tv's and entertainment and banter with other like minded brits abroad. Don't get me wrong the other nationalities in the hotel are very nice and are all welcome but it's the Brits that use the bar for their evening entertainment.
Summer 2011 im sure will come around quick enough and the bar will have a few changes for next year, im getting a Projector for the front part of the bar so we can show all the big sporting events, TV shows, Films etc on the big screen. Im hoping to replace the front tables and chairs with comfy sofa's and small tables. The lighting will also be changed slightly it will be chilled out, classy and cool ... watch this space....
